After this, the second round of betting begins. If a hand reaches showdown, the player with the highest-ranking hand wins. During the first betting interval, the player to the left of the big blind is the first bettor. The first bettor can check or raise, but the first bettor must bet a minimum amount. If the bettor checks, the other players must then match the bet. The betting interval ends when all players have checked. In some games, a player who has a pair of aces may be able to raise the bet and win the pot.
